The Design:

Legitimi bases its technology on tried and true security standards but implements them in innovative ways. These innovations form the basis of the Legitimi software, a system of authentication that does not require costly hardware devices, tokens, certificates, smart cards, or biometrics to protect transactions and data. Utilizing simple browser plugins, Legitimi is user-friendly, seamless, easy to integrate and costs only a fraction of competing technologies.

The Process:

Legitimi has created a two-factor / multi-factor authentication system utilizing unique digital "fingerprints” or digital "DNAs", which consist of information provided by hardware and software components prevalent on all existing computing devices. Each piece of identifying information is randomly collected, triple encrypted, hashed and ultimately unintelligible before being submitted to the Legitimi server via SSL. This process occurs per session or for even greater security per transaction per session. During the login process, the Digital DNA is collected and verified by the Legitimi server and is assigned either a pass or fail based on the associated login account. During an active session this information can be reconfirmed at any time creating an extremely strong defense against man-in-the-middle attacks. The entire process is simple and transparent to the end user.

Legitimi is flexible as well from an installation perspective with the ability to accommodate a wide range of web based software packages. Legitimi supports Internet Explorer, Firefox, Netscape and Safari browsers as well as Windows Mobile and Symbian.
